No referral is required. Simply complete our online appointment request form or call our office at (205) 639-1334. A member of our team will contact you to discuss appointment availability, insurance, and any questions you may have.

You'll be asked to complete intake paperwork before your appointment.

This information helps your therapist better understand your concerns, medical history, and goals for treatment so you can make the most of your first session.

 Your first session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to get to know one another. During this visit, your therapist may ask about:

  • What brings you to counseling 
  • Current concerns or symptoms 
  • Family and personal history 
  • Previous counseling experiences 
  • Goals you'd like to accomplish

Most counseling sessions last approximately 53–60 minutes.

The length and frequency of appointments will be determined by you and your therapist based on your individual needs.  

When appropriate, counseling may be available through secure telehealth appointments.

Telehealth offers convenient access to therapy from the comfort of your home while maintaining the same commitment to privacy and quality care.

Your privacy is very important to us.

Everything discussed during therapy is confidential except in situations required by law, such as concerns about safety or abuse. Your therapist will review confidentiality and answer any questions during your first appointment.

We accept many insurance plans.

Our team will help verify your benefits and explain any copays or out-of-pocket expenses before your appointment whenever possible.

Please bring:

  • Insurance card 
  • Photo ID 
  • Copayment (if applicable) 
  • We collect payment using Ivy Pay, which is a HIPAA secure design making it easy for you to add your  debit, credit, HSA or FSA card on file.
